Glee’s 300th Musical Performance Number One Single on iTunes
The day after the airing of Glee’s sixth episode this season entitled “Mash Off,” the show’s 300th song performance became the number one single on iTunes. This is something that the musical comedy has not accomplished in a while. The song that millions of fans paid for is the incredible mash-up of Adele’s “Rumour Has It” and “Someone Like You.”
Glee’s achievement has beaten Adele’s original recording of “Rumour Has It” into the iTunes Top 40, which is presently at number 38. The fans were not only the ones impressed with the mash-up. In fact, critics praised Naya Rivera, and Amber Riley, who star as Santana Lopez and Mercedes Jones, respectively, for their powerful voices that gave justice to the songs. Its exceptional choreography and striking costumes made the performance more fascinating.

“Someone Like You” held the number one position for four successive weeks in the United Kingdom, which also became number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On the other hand, “Rumour Has It” charted at number 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 even if it was not released as a single. It also claimed the number one spot on the US Triple A billboard.
